I thought I was in a “Great Shape” before I started CrossFit. So normally, I was resisting the new concept of training. I had good self-confidence, cardio was good, power output was good. And then in my first CrossFit session, I was introduced to the notorious “Fran”. I still remember saying to the coach, ”I got this, my pull ups are fine, strong legs, 95 lbs ... light weight,” ... the coach was like ”yeah buddy, you'll crush it," with a sneaky smile. After 11 minutes of gasping for air, I realized that my “in-shape” had many flaws that I had to work on, ranging from a general understanding of my body, object control, to learning how to breathe. 4 years in, I am still learning and “clicking” every day with something new, and I am excited to see how much more I can push my physical and mental capacity!
Motivation & Passion
I firmly believe in prevention when it comes to health. Everyday we move in certain patterns that are not in correspondence with our physical setup and capabilities. My motivation is purely to teach our members the benefits of exercising and diet, so they can come to better understanding of how our bodies work. Increasing their athleticism gives people a lot of confidence that transfers in every day life, and its really satisfying seeing that on an everyday basis.
